Your reading and notes
Your reading progress, notes, highlights, trackers, settings and quiz scores are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they also sync through your own private iCloud account so they appear on your other devices. The developer cannot see them, and they are never sent to the developer. If you delete the app, they are deleted from that device; the copy in your iCloud stays until you remove it in your iCloud settings.
Backups
The Save a backup file button makes a file with your notes, highlights, reading progress, trackers and settings. It goes only where you save or send it.
What the app does not do
There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Apart from what you choose to type into a prayer request or bug report, the app does not collect your name, email address, location, contacts or device identifiers, and it does not share any data with other companies.
Downloading a Bible
The app can download a Bible in your language. To do this it asks a public web server, a free GitHub Pages site run by the developer, for a text file. The request does not contain any personal information. Like every web server, GitHub may keep ordinary technical records such as your IP address, under GitHub's own privacy statement. The developer does not see those records. The app checks each download against a fingerprint before installing it.
Reporting a bug
When you tap Send report, your report goes privately to the developer through Apple's iCloud, into a private inbox that only the developer can read. It contains what you type and, if you leave "Include app and device details" on, the app version, iOS version, device model, language, appearance and text size. It does not contain your name, email address, notes, highlights or reading history. If you are not signed in to iCloud, you can send it by email instead, and Mail shows the address you send from.
Prayer requests
When you send a prayer request, it goes privately to the developer through Apple's iCloud, into a private inbox that only the developer can read. Other people using the app cannot see it, and neither can the person who sent it once it is sent. It contains what you type, the category, the app's language and version, and your name only if you type one; choose Stay anonymous and no name is sent. It never carries your email address or your Apple Account details. Requests are used only to pray for you and are never shared. If you are not signed in to iCloud, you can send your request by email instead, and Mail shows the address you send from.
Widgets
The Verse of the Day widget reads its settings from your device. The Lock Screen widget shows today's devotion title, which the app saves on your device for it. Neither sends anything anywhere.
Music
The music button opens a playlist in Apple Music. The app shares nothing with it.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
